Bicyclists and motor vehicles have to share the road in Minnesota to ensure everyone’s safety. According to the accident investigation, he was hit from behind by a white pickup truck. After the crash, the truck did not stop. He needed surgery in which a significant portion of his large intestine was removed. He had sepsis and the source was yet to be determined, so he required more surgery. He lost the function of his kidneys and has numerous fractures including his pelvis and back. He is listed in critical condition. Law enforcement is continuing its search for the driver.
When there is an accident, the first priority is to make sure that the victim receives the best possible care and is allowed time to recover. Certain realities often arise during this time.
